About Me

Growing up, I always thought the field I’d get into would be neurology. That was my “dream job”- learning and understanding the functions and complexities of the brain, and assisting in the areas where there were malfunctions. As I grew older, I became aware and intrigued by people’s emotions. It appeared to me that, as so completely important as the brain is, people somehow seemed to be motivated very much by their emotions rather than, or in combination with, their logic. (As it happens, the word “emotion” is actually derived from the latin word meaning “to move”).

This new interest, amongst other factors, led me towards my Bachelors in Psychology at Touro College in Brooklyn, NY, and my Masters in Social Work at Wurzweiler School of Social Work in New York CIty. After graduating and receiving my license to practice in NYS, I gained clinical and community experience in an array of different settings and with a large variety of populations. Some of these included Bikur Cholim of Boro Park’s family crisis unit; working with severely traumatized Holocaust survivors at the JCC of Greater Coney Island; working in the capacity of school social worker at Stella K. Abraham High School in Hewlett, NY and working with at risk teens and their families in the same community; performing intakes and assessments and basic mind- body interventions with traumatized motor vehicle accident victims; and handling a large caseload of patients with issues ranging from anxiety and depression to suicidal ideation at an outpatient clinic called Pesach Tikvah in both their Boro Park and Williamsburg locations.

After making Aliyah and expanding my practice to include couples, and individuals and families who were very lonely in a foreign country, I trained and certified in EFT with Sue Johnson, realizing more than ever how important solid relationships and a strong support system are at important times in life. Returning somewhat to my original passion and interest, neurology, I studied trauma as it transforms not just the mind, but the brain and body as well, with Dr Bessel Van Der Kolk, deepening my understanding and developing a more holistic approach to therapy, focusing largely on the idea that there are separate logical and emotional sides of the brain that in healthy individuals should function hand in hand. Over the years, I have participated in several other trainings on topics including IFS, psychodynamic psychotherapy, attachment, object relations, addiction, and abuse.

In my practice today, I draw from my education and experience to create a therapy module for each client that works best with their needs, goals, and personalities. My practice is located in Modiin, Israel.
